Basic Requirements for the Arrangement of Distribution Cabinets in the Distribution Room


Distribution cabinets refer specifically to power distribution cabinets, lighting distribution cabinets, metering cabinets, and other end-stage equipment in a distribution system. These cabinets are suitable for temporary power supply at construction sites and outdoor locations and must comply with the requirements of “three-level distribution, two-level residual-current protection, one circuit breaker per device, and one RCD per enclosure” for both power distribution and protective measures.

The arrangement of distribution cabinets in the distribution room shall comply with the following requirements:

1. The width of the operating passage in front of the distribution cabinet shall be no less than 1.5 m for single-row arrangement or double-row back-to-back arrangement, and no less than 2 m for double-row face-to-face arrangement.

2. The width of the maintenance access space behind the distribution cabinets shall be no less than 0.8 m for single-row arrangements or for double-row face-to-face arrangements, and no less than 1.5 m for double-row back-to-back arrangements; where building structures project at certain locations, the width of the access space at such points may be reduced by 0.2 m. 3. The width of the maintenance access space on the side of the distribution cabinets shall be no less than 1 m. 4. The clear height from the ceiling of the distribution room to the floor shall be no less than 3 m.
